Gregory Walsh

My name is Greg Walsh, and this is my personal blog. My hope is to share my thoughts, experiences, and insights on various topics, including technology, programming, and personal development.
These days I’m a VP in Cybersecurity Governance at State Street Bank, where I focus on encryption and certificate management policy. It’s a different pace from my engineering days, but it turns out knowing how PKI actually works makes you a pretty effective compliance bloodhound. Before this I spent five years as a PKI Security Engineer for the FAA, managing certificate infrastructure across the National Airspace System which is where I really got my hands dirty. I also help run a small MSP on the side and spent a few years teaching Java and Python at Stockton University.
I went to Stockton University and graduated with an M.S. in Data Science & Strategic Analytics and a B.S. in Computer Science. I also hold a BIG-IP F5 certification and a Public Trust clearance.
I am a huge fan of open source software and believe in the power of community-driven projects. I use open source tools every day this blog included.
I’m glad you are here and I hope you find something useful or interesting on my blog. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter or LinkedIn.
